Andronis Luxury Suites Review: Is This Santorini Hotel Worth It?
I interviewed my friend for this Andronis Luxury Suites review as she recently visited Greece for her birthday with her two sons and stayed at this dreamy Santorini accommodation.
Her two-night stay at Andronis Luxury Suites in Santorini exceeded her expectations and she even said it was better than the photos! Before you think she’s the type of person to hype a place just because, she did not have great things to say about her Mykonos hotel.
My friend is someone who really cares about the level of excellence and loves a more modern and clean feel. She’s the one in the friend group who will ask for a better table and really values an aesthetically pleasing environment.
Now that you know the basics of her stay and her appreciation for detail, let’s get into this Andronis Luxury Suites review.

First Impressions & Check-In
While Oia is known for having a lot of steps and steep areas, I’m not sure she appreciated that until she experienced it. Of course, this matters because Andronis Luxury Suites will not make you navigate Oia with your luggage. As the taxi pulled into a nearby area, staff from the hotel greeted her and her sons to personally escort them and take their luggage to the hotel.
According to her, the entrance to the hotel was unassuming and blended into the Oia storefronts. However, once you enter you are immediately taken by the view of the sea. They were led to a living room-style area with couches and offered a welcome drink.
“The reality is better than the photos!“
The whole check-in process was completed while they relaxed on the couches. She reiterated how warm and welcoming the staff were and how attentive they were to ensure a wonderful experience.
Another standout from the check-in experience is they have an app you can download to schedule spa treatments or just communicate with them. Alternatively, you can offer your phone number and you can message through WhatsApp, which is the option she utilized.
Overall, the whole check-in process was smooth and she loved the warm, living room feel instead of standing behind a desk. They really set the tone in the first ten minutes! And she said “the reality is better than the photos!”

The Rooms
According to my friend, the rooms are “open, large, clean, modern, earthy, comfortable, rustic but contemporary. Earthy, felt like you were part of the earth in a good way.”
While Oia will lend itself to feeling like you’re part of the cliff, not every hotel will decorate the same. Andronis Luxury Suites was definitely the style she loves and looks to make the dreamy Oia views its inspiration.
Amenities and Standout Features
The rooms are incredibly spacious. They have two thermostats and something my friend noticed was the lighting was hidden or recessed, I presume, in a way that seamlessly blended into the design. It beautifully added to the atmosphere without overpowering in any way, plus in her room the natural light was excellent.
All the basic amenities you would expect are there. Additionally, a small dessert and sparkling wine welcomed her to the room.
She loved how they kept asking if she liked the room or needed anything to ensure everything met her expectations. This care included the type of pillow she preferred to ensure a good night’s sleep.
The bathroom followed the theme and was “spacious, bright, comfortable and well equipped.” She had nothing negative to say about it.

Comparing Two Suite Types
They had two rooms, so let’s review the differences. Her reservation mentioned “Athena Suite” but they have since rebranded, so we’re not sure which one is the exact match on their website or booking sites, but I will provide a comparison of the two options they experienced.
Both rooms are extremely spacious with great amenities. However, my friend said her room was very bright with plenty of windows, while her sons’ room had the more Oia, cave-like vibe with only one window.
Her plunge pool and private lounge chairs had a full view of the sea and were a continuation of the room. Her sons’ room had a partial view from the plunge pool and to access the full view by the lounge chairs it required going up some steps. Her room woke up to the view, while theirs required some effort for the full view.

The Plunge Pool & Outdoor Space
The plunge pool and outdoor areas were gorgeous! While she loved the plunge pool, she said it was more like a jacuzzi, but not actually warm enough for her preference. She is Colombian and living in Florida, so if you live in a colder climate you may not agree.
When staying in Oia, you want the views Andronis Luxury Suites delivered! As stated above, her sons’ room did require climbing steps to get the full view, while her room had it for the plunge pool, lounge chairs, and she woke up to it!
So while every room has a plunge pool and outdoor space, the setup can vary. One can offer the Oia cave-like stay with the expansive views available in certain areas and one will offer plenty of natural light and the expansive views from various vantage points.

Dining: Two Restaurants, Very Different Experiences
They loved both restaurants, but here is the breakdown for each.
Miltos’ Greek Table is where they ate breakfast. They had it included in their stay, and said it was so fresh and delicious! Included or not, if it wasn’t good the first time, my friend would not have gone back a second time. Oh and she said “the bread basket was to die for.”

Lycabettus is an acclaimed fine dining restaurant known for its National Geographic mentioned balcony. She made a reservation in advance and mentioned specifically to reserve the balcony so you can enjoy the expansive views of Oia!
They ordered the 9-course tasting menu. Some courses were enjoyed and not others, which would be expected. However, they loved the experience overall, especially from the balcony with the views!

Service: The Real Standout
When booking a 5-star property, you expect excellent service, but I think it actually blew her away. She said they kept ensuring she was happy and everything was to her standard. Overall, they felt very catered to and found the service to not only be excellent, but also personable.
While a 5-star resort may succeed in offering a luxury experience, not many can offer warmth.
The WhatsApp concierge was a practical, low-friction touch that she used throughout her stay. Alternatively, you can utilize their app. While a 5-star resort may succeed in offering a luxury experience, not many can offer warmth.
And she kept coming back to that point of not only their excellence, but also their warmth and personable service. While there was the issue at checkout, the overall experience went well beyond her expectations.
Check-out Issue
While everything was smooth during their stay, there is one issue that happened at checkout. A suitcase and passport were not transported to the ferry. Andronis Luxury Suites made it right and got them their luggage and passport eventually, but it was their one faux pas.
Location in Oia
Andronis Luxury Suites is located in the center of Oia! During her stay, she loved being able to explore and shop in the morning, then escape back to the hotel once the cruise ship crowds arrived.
Being located on this iconic, cliffside town, the mornings included birds chirping, lovely sunrises, ocean sounds and, of course, the million dollar views! One morning she even got to wake up to the sound of rain, which is a favorite of hers.
Oia is at the top of Santorini, so to explore the rest of the island you will need some type of vehicle. Her sons rented ATVs and explored Fira for a bit. While Oia is the iconic location, you will need leg muscles to explore Amoudi Bay (it’s at the bottom of the cliff Oia sits on) or a set of wheels for the rest of the island.
Santorini is walkable in parts, but as a whole island you need a vehicle. However, the benefit of staying in Oia (besides charm and views) is you can more easily avoid the crowds!
And on the crowds note, they visited the end of May which is well before high season visitors descend on the island. I’m a huge fan of shoulder season as the best time to visit Santorini and I also visited end of May.

What to Know Before You Book
Here are some things to know before you book a stay at Andronis Luxury Suites.
Mobility Issues
The most important thing to note, which really applies to all of Oia, is if you have any mobility issues it could be challenging. My friend and her boys are in great shape, but she said the walk to the room after check-in was through a narrow and steep hallway with long steps.
This is typical for Oia and would be typical for most stays from Fira to Oia involving the iconic, cliffside views. Just keep this in mind when planning your trip. If you’re recovering from an injury, you may want to postpone a cliffside stay until you’re more comfortable navigating stairs.
The southern part of the island has beaches and is flatter, but Santorini is known for those views and I have to say they are magical! A worthwhile consideration could be Akrotiri when considering the best area to stay in Santorini with flatter terrain. It’s the southernmost area of the island, and some hotels will offer views of the cliffs rather than from the cliffs.
Suite Selection
While every room has a plunge pool and outdoor area with expansive views, they are not created equal. She loved her suite, which was quite different to the suite her sons had. If you want to wake up to the views, consider options like the Honeymoon Suite with Outdoor Hot tub.
One clear distinction she made between their rooms was her plunge pool and lounge chairs both had expansive views, while her sons’ plunge pool only had partial views.
Of course, their room had the Oia cave-like quality to it, so you may enjoy the charm it offers.
Lycabettus Restaurant
They loved their experience at this restaurant, but stressed the importance of reserving the balcony area. She booked months in advance of her end of May visit, just to be safe.
Of course, if you end up visiting during high season (June through August), you will definitely want to book well in advance.

Verdict: Andronis Luxury Suites Review
My friend gave it a 10 out of 10, and I can assure you they earned that score from her. The reasons she provided for the score: “they surpassed expectations with hospitality and catering to my needs and seemed very genuine. The place was gorgeous and the views were breathtakingly beautiful and the location was great.”
If you’re looking for one of the best luxury hotels in Oia with stunning caldera views, exceptional service, and spacious suites, Andronis Luxury Suites is worth the splurge.

No, because young children are not allowed. The rooms are extremely spacious, but its cliffside location makes it dangerous for young kids. Overall, Andronis Luxury Suites caters to adults.
Is Andronis Luxury Suites easy to get around?
It’s not recommended for people with mobility issues. Rooms are accessible through narrow and steep hallways with long steps.

Final Thoughts: Andronis Luxury Suites Review
I hope this Andronis Luxury Suites review was helpful in deciding whether it’s right for your trip! When I spent four days in Santorini with a friend, we stayed near one of the black sand beaches, but when I return one day, I will definitely choose a cliffside option and after hearing her experience, Andronis Luxury Suites will be a top contender!
