About Sarah
I’ve lived in Florida since I was two years old and grew up visiting springs. I have visited all of the springs within an hour of Orlando, and some of the options within two hours, so I have first hand experience. I love paddling Florida springs, but there are some great options if you want to swim as well!
My Favorites
Cold fronts are the best time to snorkel with manatees and the cold experience was worth it for me. Blue Spring State Park is my most visited since I grew up nearby, but I have fond memories of Silver Springs and Silver Glen Springs as well as recent visits. King’s Landing is one of the most beautiful paddles, though the 5-mile downstream paddle at Silver Springs is still my favorite.
The reality is there are wonderful springs that make a great day trip from Orlando. Of course, if you’re willing to drive, a summer Florida springs road trip could be a fun adventure!
The free Orlando Florida Springs Guide can help you choose the right option(s) for your trip! My picks are mentioned and I have pages for springs within one, two, and more than two hours from Orlando.
