Greece Travel.

There’s nothing quite like the Greek Islands. I’ve been to Athens too, but island hopping in Greece is truly addictive—think whitewashed villages, beautiful sea, and incredible sunsets at every turn. With a mix of culture, dreamy landscapes, and the most aqua water I’ve ever seen, Greece is a must-visit. And yes, it can be affordable—especially with the tips I’ve picked up from my own trips.

Greece Travel FAQs

Aphrodite's Rock cyprus

What’s the best time to visit Greece?
The shoulder months is my favorite time to visit! Late spring (May–early June) and early fall (September–early October) are ideal. You’ll get warm weather, swimmable seas, and fewer crowds compared to peak summer.

Is Greece good for solo travel?
Yes! The islands are safe, locals are friendly, and ferries make it easy to get around. Solo travel will feel easy here—and there’s a great mix of chill beach time and opportunities to meet people.

Can Greece be done on a budget?
Definitely. Timing is everything though! Visit during the shoulder months and prices will be a fraction of what they are during high season. If you have to visit during summer, skip Santorini if prices are high and opt for islands like Naxos or Paros. Ferries, street food (like gyros), and budget-friendly guesthouses make island-hopping more accessible than you’d think.

Do I need to book ferries in advance?
For high season (June–August), yes—especially for popular routes like Athens to Santorini or Mykonos. Off-season, you can often book as you go. I usually use FerryHopper to compare prices and routes.
