LMNT Electrolyte Review
I’ve been on a journey with staying hydrated and it’s not because I didn’t drink enough water. It’s actually because I was drinking too much plain water and unknowingly flushing out my electrolytes. I think like most health related things, we’ve oversimplified it and when you find yourself on an extreme end, you realize this isn’t ideal because it creates new problems.
So this post is not about just drinking more water, because I was drinking two gallons a day and ultimately causing myself to become dehydrated.

Drinking Too Much Water Made Me Dehydrated
Now I’ve heard of this happening, but I didn’t think it was easy. Somehow though, I eventually developed a habit of drinking one and half to two gallons a day, but remained thirsty! Being dehydrated never crossed my mind since I was drinking so much water.
I was getting headaches. Some days I’d wake up with a headache and ibuprofen wouldn’t help. Since I don’t normally take medications, ibuprofen would usually help. I would often have super tense shoulder muscles that would create tension up my neck, but again, I worked a desk job so I easily explained it away.
It was rare for me to sleep through the night. When I was younger, I never had a problem. Again though, this could be equated to a lot of things including stress.
If I didn’t have a full blown headache, I’d have brain fog. Sometimes, the brain fog would subside and sometimes it would turn into a headache. Of course, I didn’t know the issue so I’d continue drinking plain water.
One day I woke up with a headache and was so fed up. I prayed again so frustrated but had the thought of being dehydrated. I checked the symptoms, noticed some of them fit and thought there could be something to it. This led me to researching electrolytes.
LMNT Electrolyte Review | My Experience
LMNT has been a game changer for me! Now, I don’t necessarily think this product is for everyone, but I do think it’s worth considering. When I realized I was dehydrating myself by drinking too much plain water, I started looking for options to help me properly hydrate.
A ton of influencers were talking about LMNT, so I skeptically tried it. The moment I was sold was in the first few days of using the product. I had woken up in the middle of the night, noticing the tension in my shoulders and not wanting to wake up with a headache, I went to the kitchen and took several gulps of LMNT. Within minutes I could feel the tension in my shoulders subside!
I couldn’t believe it! The tension melted away! The next morning I did NOT wake up with a headache and I’ve been using LMNT ever since. If I run out, I notice the difference! So for now, I’m sticking with it.

Is LMNT Right For You?
Now even though I had a great experience, it doesn’t necessarily mean the product is right for you. It does have a lot of sodium, and though it appears salt has been unfairly demonized, you may not need this extra sodium. So if you already have plenty of salt and/or sodium in your diet, LMNT might be too much for you.
If you don’t sweat much or drink a lot of caffeine, you may not have a need for extra salt. We lose salt when we sweat, pee, drink caffeine, but it’s varied from person to person. I sweat a lot when I workout, plus I live in Florida which is a sauna right now! So I also sweat a lot just going for a walk or doing yard work.
You might have a lot of sodium in your diet if you are eating out a lot or eating a lot of processed foods. No shade in that, but it’s something to consider as your sodium intake would be higher than if you cooked cleaner meals at home.
Now I’ve been focusing on sodium, since it’s the highest electrolyte ingredient in LMNT, but it’s not the only electrolyte in LMNT or in general. There are other ways to get in the various types of electrolytes and what you need probably differs from what I need.
LMNT Electrolyte Review | Conclusion
I love LMNT and appreciate how it has helped me hydrate better. There has been improvements with less tension, less headaches, less brain fog and more energy all because I’ve been getting properly hydrated!
Drinking water does not necessary mean being hydrated and I’m starting to understand it more and more. With the Summer heat right now, I’m losing even more electrolytes in sweat, but just increased my salt intake more to compensate and have noticed an improvement.
If you relate to any part of my story, it’s worth trying LMNT. A sample pack is inexpensive and you can see if it helps you!
