20 Most Instagrammable Spots in Fiji (and Exactly Where to Find Them)

After spending two weeks solo, I learned the majority of the 20 most instagrammable spots in Fiji are NOT on the main island. Yes, I do show the main island some love, but the Yasawa Islands stole the show for me!

Of course, Fiji has over 300 islands, so this is not an exhaustive list. It is a good place to start for some visual inspiration if you’re planning a trip to Fiji! I love photos and it’s often a picture that will spark my interest in visiting a destination, like the Faroe Islands!

For some reason, I didn’t come across many photos of Fiji that really excited me before I left, but thankfully my expectations were exceeded! These 20 most instagrammable spots in Fiji were captured on my iPhone. Since I traveled there solo with a carry-on, there wasn’t room for a camera. However, I hope these photos inspire you to travel to this Pacific paradise and maybe you’ll return with even more instagrammable places in Fiji!

Fiji island hopping tours

BLUE LAGOON

This picturesque spot is Blue Lagoon! The color of the water is stunning. With limited accommodations on the island, you can enjoy this slice of paradise without the crowds.

I stayed at Blue Lagoon Beach Resort and loved it! This is also a great launching pad to see the Sawa-i-Lau Caves!

KUATA ISLAND

There was just something about Kuata! It was stunning from every angle and also gave me Moana vibes!

Barefoot Kuata specializes in shark excursions (more on that later) and the feel of the island lends itself to adventure!

Mantaray Island Resort Fiji Review as a Solo Traveler

DRAWAQA PASSAGE

I stayed at Mantaray Island Resort in hopes of snorkeling with stingrays. My first day there I hopped on a resort boat and was taken to the Drawaqa Passage.

This area of the Yasawa Islands has more of a jungle feel. It was also windy and the currents were strong only adding to the vibes.

NATADOLA BEACH

Natadola Beach is quite large and only has two resorts on it.

I enjoyed my beginner surf lessons in Fiji which took place in this portion of Natadola Beach.

Not only is it a good spot for beginner surf lessons, it’s also one of the most instagrammable spots on Fiji’s main island!

KUATA ISLAND

We’re back on Kuata Island, because this corner of Fiji truly captured my heart!

Walking around a small section of this stunning island and I couldn’t stop taking photos!

I remember our Florida beach vacations as kid, I would climb the sea wall rocks for fun. Exploring Kuata felt like that, only it’s way more instagrammable!

NACULA ISLAND VILLAGE VISIT

While staying at Blue Lagoon Beach Resort, I went on a Village visit.

Our visit offers support to the locals and in return we get to learn more about their culture.

NATADOLA BEACH

Even though the Yasawa Islands were my favorite part of my Fiji solo travel, Natadola Beach was undeniably beautiful. I mean look at this sunset!

The only time I ended up feeling awkward traveling solo was on the main island. Plus I really loved the island hopping Fiji experience.

BLUE LAGOON BEACH RESORT

This is the view from the dining area of Blue Lagoon Beach Resort!

As a solo traveler, it was my favorite resort, though it’s one of the last stops on the ferry!

Bull Shark Dive Fiji

BULL SHARK DIVE

When planning my Fiji trip, I came across this opportunity to do a bull shark dive!

Easily one of the scariest yet coolest things I’ve done. Since it was only my fourth dive ever, I was very nervous, but they took great care of me!

This experience is offered by Barefoot Kuata.

FIJI REEF

One pleasant surprise I had in the Yasawa Islands was each island I stayed had a reef to explore!

This starfish is from my stay at Mantaray Island Resort.

The beautiful Fiji reefs are definitely among the most instagrammable spots in Fiji and there are plenty to choose from!

Sigatoka Sand Dunes, Fiji

SIGATOKA SAND DUNES

The Sigatoka Sand Dunes are on the main island and are far more impressive in person, but I wouldn’t plan your trip around visiting.

However, if you do stay nearby, it’s definitely a worthwhile activity! Be warned, you will have to climb the dunes if you do the full circle hike.

KUATA ISLAND

If I had to give an award for the most instagrammable spots in Fiji in a small area, Kuata would top my list.

It’s truly so beautiful, rugged, and begging to be explored.

While Kuata was my favorite island, I will say Barefoot Kuata came in last for the food. It’s not deal breaker bad, but still worth noting.

MANTARAY ISLAND RESORT

I already mentioned that Mantaray Island Resort is in a more jungle area of the Yasawa Islands. What I loved about Mantaray Island Resort is they really embraced that fact!

While the water color doesn’t slap you in the face the way Blue Lagoon does, it’s still gorgeous and the reef is quite large offering plenty to explore!

KUATA ISLAND

By this point, it has to be obvious how much I loved Kuata Island.

It captured my imagination and I couldn’t get enough of it!

Just walking around Barefoot Kuata going to and from meals, I would have to stop and take a photo. Even though it’s not a large area, it’s just so beautiful!

Sandbar in Fiji

SANDBAR IN THE MAMANUCA ISLANDS

While staying on the main island, I did a day trip to a sandbar in the Mamanuca Islands.

We also visited a barrier reef nearby as well! While I enjoyed this experience, it was tough to follow the Yasawa Islands. However, if you’re looking for a tour from the main island, South Sea Sailing Experience with Lunch is a good one to consider!

HIKE ON NACULA ISLAND

One of the days I was at Blue Lagoon Beach Resort, I decided to checkout their hiking trail.

The start was muddy and a bit dangerous due to how slippery it was, but the views ended up being worth it!

I didn’t complete the full trail, but I loved the 360 views I got from the top!

Sawa-i-Lau Caves, Yasawa Islands

SAWA-I-LAU CAVES

Maybe not the one of the most instagrammable spots in Fiji, or I just failed to capture it (also possible), but it is one of the coolest experiences!

These caves are movie famous and, of course, have a legend among the locals!

FERRY RIDE

Enjoying the ferry ride from island to island, offers some of the most instagrammable spots in Fiji.

Of course, there can be rough seas making the photo ops more difficult, but thankfully it wasn’t bad for me!

In my opinion, the Best Solo Travel Spots in Fiji are accessible by ferry!

Perhaps by now you agree that Kuata is one the most instagrammable spots in Fiji!

Any time of day and from any viewpoint, I was mesmerized!

KUATA ISLAND

I have to finish the 20 most instagrammable spots in Fiji in Kuata!

When you arrive to this island, someone will climb that shark fin rock and do a traditional welcome dance.

Every resort in Fiji also sings a welcome and goodbye song, which was so charming! At Kuata though, you get the bonus of the dance!

20 Most Instagrammable Spots in Fiji

Well, I hope this post helped you narrow down where you want to visit in Fiji! With over 300 islands, there are plenty of options to choose from and you really can’t go wrong! My only advice is be sure to get off the main island! My time on the main island was good, but I would never have left Fiji with the same love if I hadn’t visited the Yasawa Islands!

There was adventure, relaxation, culture and absolute paradise in the Yasawa Islands! I’d gladly return to Fiji to explore more, but for now it will go down as my favorite solo trip ever!
